Alessandro De Benedetti

AlessandroDeBenedetti
Alessandro De Benedetti was born in Genoa. He attended the Istituto Marangoni in Milan and subsequently began working for Italian and international fashion designers. In 1990, he collaborated with Saverio Patella on the knitwear collections and, later, in ’92, breaking away from traditional fashion paths, he moved to Australia, where he designed the George Cross Sportswear collection. On his return to Italy in 1994, he designed for Martino Midali. In 1995, he worked in Paris for Thierry Mugler and, from 1997, he designed his own collection, offering a concept-driven, tailored women’s ready-to-wear range. In 2019, Alessandro began working as creative director for the Italian brand Romeo Gigli. Poetic and nostalgic, the designer transforms Romeo’s legacy into modern ready-to-wear with a dreamy aesthetic and high-quality tailoring.
